In Cambridge we found a parking spot right out in front of
the Washington-Longfellow Home. This
house has a rich history. George
Washington used the house as his headquarters during the Revolutionary
War. Later, Longfellow lived there,
where he raised his family and wrote his most famous works. We missed the regularly-scheduled tour, but
Amy, one of the park rangers, gave us a tour of the first floor
only. It’s a very special house and the
gardens are also well-designed.
