Our last stop for the day was the Minute Man NHP, which
commemorates the opening battle of the Revolutionary War. The Visitor Center has a great film about the
battle. The rest of the park has trails
and roads with parking stops along the way.
Sights to see include the Minute Man Statue, North Bridge (where “The shot
heard around the world” took place, the Wayside House (where the Alcotts and
Nathaniel Hawthorne lived), and other historic sites. Many of the transcendentalists lived in this area and nearby is Walden Pond.
